Youth Volunteering

Volunteering can help you to learn new skills, help others and have fun.

Our service is for anyone aged 14 and over. Many organisations request that volunteers are 18 or over, however, we do have some opportunities for under 18s. We suggest that once you’ve registered with us you can search for youth volunteering opportunities by doing the following:

  • Go to our opportunity search
  • Click on ‘Advanced Search’
  • Enter your search criteria and under the ‘Recruitment, Support and Accessibility’ section, tick ’17 and under’ – this will mean that your search results will only show opportunities that are available for those aged 17 and under

Alternatively, you can register with Vinspired. It is a national database containing volunteering opportunities for young people aged 14 and over. There are a number of organisations (see below) which offer opportunities to young people:

NCS – The Challenge
National Citizens Service

The Conservation Volunteers
Duke of Edinburgh award
Royal Kingston Scouts

See the government’s advice on volunteering when you are Under 18.

Good luck with the first steps on your volunteering journey.
