Rewards and Recognition
Volunteers are a valuable part of every community and in many cases the building blocks of charitable causes, so let’s celebrate them. We encourage organisations to recognise and reward their volunteers for the exceptional contribution that they make through the reward schemes we facilitate.
ValueYou is a charity which provides free discount cards to long-serving volunteers. 100 hours of volunteering entitles a volunteer to a ValueYou discount card which provides discounts with hundreds of businesses across London.
Over 600 independent businesses across London, such as cafes, florists and hairdressers, are taking part in the scheme. Some businesses offer a discount of up to 20% to cardholders. This won’t cost your organisation a penny, but supports local business and makes your volunteers feel valued.
If you’ve volunteered for over 100 hours in the past 12 months in Kingston, you can register for the discount card online. Once registered, you’ll also receive a free gift which you can claim in participating businesses. For more information, get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you need any help in supporting volunteers to sign up, you can read the ValueYou Volunteer Managers guide for more information.
Volunteering Kingston can help you recognise the contribution of your volunteers by providing certificates for:
- a particular number of hours of voluntary service e.g. 25, 50 or 100
- a milestone, such as completing a project, supporting an event or attending a training course
- a general certificate for a volunteer you particularly want to recognise
We create and print these certificates and send them to you to present to the volunteer.
To request certificates please get in touch.
Volunteers’ Week takes place from June 1st – June 7th every year. It is a national event which celebrates the contribution volunteers make across the UK. Volunteering Kingston celebrate this every year with a volunteers fair in the borough and a certificate presentation to nominated volunteers.
Keep an eye out for more information about this on our events page and in our newsletter so that you can nominate your volunteers!
